Two-Year-Old Called for Jury Duty

“Mommy, what’s a jury,” Kaylee Reynolds, 2, could have uttered to her mom after receiving a jury summons. That is, if she could talk.

But, never mind the language barrier. You see, Kaylee was willing to undertake her civic duty, but the jury commissioner had the audacity to call Kaylee, and I quote, “too young.”

That is an outrageous response and represents age discrimination in its worst form.

So why did they send the summons? Just to play games?

Look, the courts are usually dying for jurors, and here is a precocious young gal that knows more about the judicial process than the average 3-year-old, and she WANTS to serve; yet she is denied her opportunity.

So Kaylee is considering suing the courts and demanding that she be able to serve as juror in her own civil case, which would determine if she could sit on jury in the criminal case to which she was summoned.

So Kaylee released the following statement to express her outrage about the matter:

“Mommy, mommy, poop in my pants again,” exclaimed the incensed Kaylee.

And “Poop in my pants again” does indeed accurately sum up this situation.

Well said, Kaylee.
