It usually is a good idea to hang on to the key when you chain and lock your legs together, uh, that is, if you really need to chain and lock your legs together for some reason.
But Trevor Corneliusien, 26, forgot that rule when he drove to the desert, entered an abandoned mine shaft, and chained his wheels up.
You see, Trevor was going to chain his legs, in an abandoned mine, in the desert, in the middle of nowhere, for art. He merely wanted to sketch his legs in that scene. And to make things as realistic as possible, Trev decided to use a real lock, but, unfortunately, he somehow “misplaced” the key.
And when that reality hit him, he knew he needed to stay calm and hop into action. And hop he did, for over 12 hours, through rocks and sand, until he happened upon a gas station.
And because Trevor is always thinking and planning ahead, he remembered to bring the sketch with him.
“It was a pretty good depiction of how a chain would look wrapped around your legs,” said Ryan Ford, the sheriff deputy who greeted Trevor at the gas station.
So Trevor has some artistic skill, even though his brain does not seem to be fully functional.
And after this horrific experience, Trevor has learned his lesson. Next time he locks himself up in the middle of nowhere, he is going to place the key up his wazoo so he won’t lose it.
Good thinking Trev!
